Child Life Department Annual Goals:
-
Single Point of Accountability (SPA) and lead child life specialist assigned with streamlining 33% of daily EPIC charting by evaluating the highest utilized child life interventions to eliminate waste and enhance operational excellence and productivity.
-
The Child Life Team identified EPIC charting as an area of improvement in productivity to continue to deliver timely access to care for patients and staff. The overall goal was to increase child life productivity and promote multidisciplinary collaboration. After a week of measuring time spent writing chart notes, child life specialists recorded spending an average of 60+ minutes a day. We identified the top three most utilized interventions from 2022 as our target:
-
Preparation and Procedure Support
-
Pediatric Developmental Intervention
